David Schneuer Biography:
(1905-1987)

One of the great painters of the last century, David Schneuer was probably the last German post impressionist. Growing up in Germany in the beginning of the century left its mark on all his work as did living in Paris for some time as a young man. Doing stage design and posters for the Munich Theatre was the continuation of his career. In 1933 Schneuer immigrated to Palestine and became one of the founders of the advertising industry. Till the end of his life, his work was a kind of nostalgia for Europe of the 1920's and early 30's. Following Schneuer's lead, many contemporary artists started to paint and to print art that very closely resembled Schneuer's images.
